Charook Xena – Leather Strap Sandal with Open Toe, Khaki

The Xena is our tallest sandal: an ankle-high leather shaft in khaki, open at the front and laced right across the instep.

Broad leather bands alternate with open panels, so the foot gets air despite the height. The lacing reaches from the toe area to the top of the shaft and can be tightened differently at every level — firm at the ankle, looser over the instep. The toes stay free; underneath sits the flat hand-stitched leather sole. A model that shows the foot clearly and still reads as closed.

Material

The shoe is 100 % leather: a buffalo-leather outsole, a lamb-leather lining and a goat-leather outer shell. The leather is untreated and natural. Goat leather lets the feet breathe, so no bad odours build up and the foot stays cool — which is why these shoes stay comfortable over long days.

Fit and size

The straps wrap around ankle and calf and can be tightened to any degree, so the sandal sits on very different foot shapes. We recommend your usual size. The flat leather sole breaks in within a few days.

Care

The leather is untreated and natural. Wipe off dust with a dry, soft cloth and work in a colourless leather conditioner from time to time. Never machine wash and never dry on a radiator — let the shoes air at room temperature.
